Tadake Falls

Saturday some good friends took pity on my lonely bachelor soul and invited me along for an outing to Tadake Falls. I hadn't been there before and the hike and falls were a blast. The hike consists of wading up a beautiful jungle stream for about a mile and then arriving at a tropical paradise. The Eborns were kind enough to share their photos, so here you go...

Jungle Swing
These two vines spanning the stream made for the perfect jungle swing.

Blue Steel
That one's for you Holly! Print it out and place it on your pillow at night.

Yo, Adrian I did it!!!
Holly, you will always be my Adrian! Don't think of the Rocky theme music or you might tear up a little while looking at this picture.

Okinawan Water Torture
If you are wondering what the look on my face is, it is a face of excruciating pain. The water pounding on my freshly cut dome felt like a scalp massage gone horribly wrong.

Winner of the Tough Guy Challenge
After we discovered that it really hurt sitting at the bottom of the waterfall, we of course had to find out who could stand the pain the longest and we developed the "Tough Guy Challenge." Well, the winner by far was Jessica. The rest of us only lasted a few seconds, but she demonstrated extreme resilience and pain tolerance and put the rest of us to shame. It must be that Trevr's toughness is wearing off on her.

Denver says, "You are so lucky! I hope you're having fun in Japan!!" Holly says, "I'm not one bit surprised that Jessica beat all the boys in a tough competition. We love and miss you." I did tear up a bit about your Adrian comment - so sweet :)

I don't think I can look at your blog anymore. It makes me miss being there in Okinawa too much. I wanted to get to Tadake Falls before we left too. Glad you are surrounded by good people who take pitty on you. Wish we were there! At least we get to see 4/5 of your family here in Utah!
