OK in OKinawa

Thank you to everyone for all your thoughts and concern related to the earthquake and resultant tsunami in mainland Japan. We have received many emails and calls and feel very loved and cared for. We are safe here in Okinawa, so please don't worry about us. There was a tsunami warning Friday and Saturday and we weren't allowed to enter the water or play at the beaches, but other than that we haven't really been affected. Okinawa is an island far south of mainland Japan. The epicenter of the massive earthquake was approximately 1,100 miles from Okinawa. For reference, 1,100 miles is approximately the distance between Salt Lake City and St. Louis. Due to the great distance, we didn't feel the earthquake here at all. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those in Japan displaced, injured or killed by the quake and tsunami.

We are a little behind on posting about our latest adventures, so please allow us to post a blogesborg of events. First, a few weeks ago we visited a combination cave, museum, cafe and bonzai garden in Kin Town...

Second, McCall took it upon herself to make personalized and very artistic Valentines for her preschool classmates...

Third, for President's Day we visited two "secret" beaches on Miyagi Island with some friends. The company, weather and scenery were amazing...

Fourth, Jason was in Washington D.C. on a business trip and had the wonderful opportunity to hang out with bro- and sis-in law Jeremy and Suzanne and their family and squeeze in a quick visit with his cousin Capt Holbrook and his family...

Last, but not least, we spent last weekend at Okuma resort with friends...

Come on now Jason, how could you not put your beautiful starfish picture up? I feel robbed! It's a good thing I put it on my blog!
