Number Five is Alive!

We are pleased to announce the birth of Juniper Ruby Dalpias...

BABY FACTS:

Date:
Saturday, 27 February 2010
Time: 2:20 a.m.
Location: U.S. Naval Hospital, Camp Lester, Okinawa, Japan
Weight: 7 lbs. 15 oz.
Length: 21 inches
Hair Color: Red
Most Memorable Experience: At 5:30 a.m., about three hours after Juniper was born, we were being transferred from our labor and delivery room to our post-partum room. Holly was in a wheelchair holding Juniper and we were entering our new room when the shockwaves from a magnitude 7.0 earthquake centered fifty miles east of us struck. We were on the 5th (top) floor of the hospital and the cement building was swaying pretty good. Flower vases and other loose objects were falling off tables and the nurse escorting us was praying out loud to be saved. Luckily, no major damage occurred and Juniper slept right through it. However, Holly and I and all the other patients in the hospital were wide awake and a bit jumpy for the next few hours. What a memorable experience. Juniper's life definitely started off with a bang!

I am so excited for you all! I am so glad you are all okay. What an unforgettable day. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Juniper and am a little jealous that you got to it first. And actually I had started to write a children's book that was like a desert version of "The Secret Garden" and the main character was a red headed girl named Juniper Berry Heathrow. That is no joke. Please stay safe! Where were Denver and McCall during all this? I bet they were so scared!!!
I love you!
