Surprise Visit to Utah

We just returned from a surprise visit to Utah. We stayed for two weeks and had a grrrrreat time. If you live in Utah and didn't know we were there, then SURPRISE and SORRY WE MISSED YOU! Below are some pics from our visit:

Denver's number one trip priority was playing in the snow...

Denver Persuaded Grandpa Allan to Build a Snow Fort

Snowball Fight with Grandpa Jay and Uncle Tom

Visiting the Baileys

McCall LOVED Playing with the Bailey Dogs

Denver Perfected his Ski Crashing Skills

McCall's number one trip priority was getting her ears pierced for her B-day...

McCall Loved it when one of the Ear Piercing Tools Jammed and was stuck half way through her Meaty Lobe

A Sucker Can Make Anything Better!

We were able to get in mucho hangout time with Fam and Friends...

Holly with her Mommy and Most of her Sisters

An Age-old Dalpias Family Tradition - Saturday Lunch at the Ogden Pizzeria

Dinner with Our Friends

The Kids with Grandpa Allan and Grandma Linda

Visiting with Great Gpa and Gma Stewart

Intense Ping-Pong Action at Grandpa Jay and Pat's Place

After building snow forts and engaging in snowball fights, Denver's second trip priority was skiing...
Night Skiing at Wolf Mountain
Denver has been begging us for a couple years to go skiing. Needless to say our move to Okinawa made that request slighty difficult to accomodate. Denver had a blast skiing and he can now snowplow down the runs with the best of them.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. On Wednesday evening we left SLC airport and began our short 35-hour journey home to Okinawa...

4:30 a.m. in the Seattle Airport
We are not sure what was going on with Denver's face as we waited to see if there was space available for us on the military charter flight, but we figured it was picture worthy.

Seven Hours into our 10 1/2 Hour Flight from Seattle to Yokoto Air Base
McCall really enjoyed wearing our noise-cancelling headphones. It's too bad that we didn't have a noise-cancelling mouthpiece for McCall or the flight would have been perfect.

It was truly wonderful to have you all home for awhile. We had a great time. Just wanted to thank both Holly Anna and Jason for the great blog and e-mails. Except for not being able to hug the grandkids, we felt that we hadn't missed a beat in their development. Love, Dad and Pat

If you were in the Utah at the same time as we were, I am totally going to cyber kick your butts. Though I DO NOT miss that awful Space A journey to the states and back, how cool you could do it! We also had a wonderful time in Utah. We do the 1/2 marathon this coming weekend and leave for Moab this Thursday, I'm so excited for our camping trip!
